Jonathan Sangster (they/them) is an educator, artist, and graphic designer specializing in branding and identity. Their creative process involves extensive aesthetic research and experimentation, often blending physical and digital mediums. Sangster values the tactile nature of physical objects and frequently incorporates screen printing and handmade elements into their work, exploring the longevity and sensory impact of physical media in an increasingly digital world. They now work independently and co-founded Mx. Studio, a multidisciplinary design studio challenging traditional design norms. They have a profound interest in typography and lettering, viewing them as tools for direct and indirect communication—a fascination that began in their youth, influenced by comic books and graffiti, and evolved into a professional focus on the visual nature of language and its ability to convey complex emotions and ideas.
